Call Backs

3rd Day / Callbacks: Players should plan on attending all scheduled days of tryouts. Please note: only 07 players are scheduled for three days. Any other team/age group may be “called back” for a third night for additional evaluation.

Tryout Structure: Tryouts consist of technical work, small-sided games, and full-field play for some age groups.  Players are evaluated on their technique, tactical understanding, physiological make-up and physical abilities. We want to see if players are creative, if they are comfortable on the ball, and make good decisions.  ALL players will receive communication on their standing each day of the tryout process.

Age Group Coaches: Players can view age group coaches here. This page will be updated as coaches are assigned for the 2017-18 season.

 If You Cannot Attend Tryouts:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

15U Secondary Season Boys: 2003 Boys who are sure they will be playing in the Fall 15U Secondary Season -- 8th graders or 9th graders who are not participating in high school soccer -- will tryout May 30-31, 2017.

9th graders who tryout and don't make their high school team? Inform the club immediately following your high school tryouts in August, and the club will do its best to place you on a team or form an additional team for the Fall 15U Secondary Season. There are no guarantees, however, the club will make every effort to place you.

High School Boys Tryouts: Tryouts for ALL high school boys teams for the Spring 2018 season will take place July 11-12, 2017 at Broomfield Commons. Players who try out for the Secondary Season MUST ALSO ATTEND TRYOUTS for the Spring 2018 season in July.

15U Secondary Season Girls: All 2003 girls will tryout May 30-31, 2017 to be placed on teams for the Fall 2017 season. Spring 15U Secondary Season placement for 2003 8th graders or 9th graders not participating in high school soccer will occur over the winter 2017-2018.

Tryout FAQ's

How do I register for Tryouts?

All players must register online to participate in the 2017 Broomfield Tryouts.  ONLINE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.  Go to the BSC website www.broomfieldsoccerclub.org and click on the REGISTRATION Tab.  Select 2017-18 Competitive Tryouts.  If you already have an account, login with your email and password.  If you are new to BSC, please create a new member account.  Once you have completed the registration form, you will receive a confirmation email.

Is there a fee to tryout?

No, we invite all players who are interested in playing competitive soccer to try out for free.

What time are tryouts?

Tryouts will take place at the Broomfield Commons on May 30, May 31, and June 1, 2017. See the schedule above for individual age groups.

Where do I go when I arrive at the field?

All players need to arrive 20-30 minutes before your scheduled time.  If you have not registered yet for tryouts or need to pick-up your tryout number, visit the Main Pavilion at the Commons. When you check in for the first time, you will receive a sheet with 3 stickers on it – 1 for each day.  Therefore, you do not need to check in the following day(s).  If you picked up the stickers with your number on it at Age Group Trainings, please bring them with you each day.

Once you have your number, jog out to the assigned field for your age group.  Parents, please do not go on to the field with your child.  Players, coaches, and evaluators are the only people permitted on the fields during tryouts.

What happens at the end of the tryout session?

Approximately fifteen minutes prior to the official end of their tryout slot, players will walk over to the designated area of their respective pod where coaches will join them to hand out letters.  We ask that ALL players refrain from opening their offer/status letter at the field.  Every player will receive 1 of 2 documents with information about their tryout.  (1) BSC Player Placement Offer.  This document will let them know that they have been offered a roster spot on a specific team – Prestige, Magista, Tiempo, Vapor, Rio, Venom, or Phantom.  (2) BSC Player Placement Status.  This document will inform the player that they are still being evaluated by the coaches of the age group. Please do not leave the field without a letter.

If you receive the BSC Player Placement Offer, you will receive an email by 9:00a the following day with instructions on how to “accept” or “decline” the roster spot on the team you have been offered.  You have until 1:00p that day to accept your roster spot.  We ask that you attend all scheduled tryouts.

If you receive the BSC Player Placement Status, please return the following day to continue your evaluation.  We ask that you attend all scheduled tryouts.

When can I expect to have an offer for a roster spot on a team?

Coaches will offer roster spots at the conclusion of each tryout session until their roster is full.  If you have not been offered a roster spot by the conclusion of the final day of tryouts, you will be contacted via email by a coach within the age group.  Every player that attends tryouts and has not received an offer letter will receive communication within 72 hours of the final day of tryouts – by Sunday, June 4 @ 7:00pm.

What happens after Tryouts?

Once you have accepted your roster spot via the email sent by the club, you will proceed to the “Cart” to make payment or set up a payment plan.  You can pay by cash, check, or credit card.  An explanation of how to make payment will be in your Offer Email.

When do I meet with my new team?

Blast players will meet with their team to pick up their Blast Player Packet, review team calendars and expectations, and select uniform numbers within 2 weeks after tryouts.

How do I order my Blast Uniform Kit?

For all U11 and U12 teams, the coach will schedule a time for your team to visit the BSC office to try on the sample uniforms.  You will also have your picture taken for your player pass at the office.  For players with a 1999 – 2005 birthdate, you can come to the office during business hours to try on uniforms and take your player pass picture.

Can I apply for a scholarship?

Yes!  BSC wants every child to have the opportunity to participate in our program.  We provide scholarships to athletes in need.  Please email Carol Stephens for the scholarship application.
