Tryout FAQ's

When are tryouts?

All tryout and age group training dates and times for the 2019-2020 season will be held May 28th and 29th, with a weather make up date on May 30th, at Broomfield Commons.  Specific times for each age group and field locations TBA.

How do I register for Tryouts?

Registration opening soon!

All players must register online to participate in the 2019 Broomfield Tryouts.  ONLINE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.  Go to the BSC website and click on the REGISTRATION Tab.  Select 2019-20 Competitive Tryouts.  If you already have an account, login with your email and password.  If you are new to BSC, please create a new member account.  Once you have completed the registration form, you will receive a confirmation email.

What do I do if my child will miss one or more days of tryouts?

Players are highly recommended to attend ALL days of tryouts. If your child will miss one or more days of tryouts, please follow the steps below:

-Attend all Age Group Trainings or HS Kick-arounds and the Pre-Tryout Camp (for 09-06 birth years)
-Register for Tryouts and indicate you will miss the actual tryout dates on your registration
-Notify the appropriate Age Group Manager  and your current BSC coach (if applicable) that you will miss tryouts. They will be able to evaluate your child at AGT's or Kick-arounds. You will receive an email offer during the tryout process (as long as you have registered in the system).

Is there a fee to tryout?

No, we invite all players who are interested in playing competitive soccer to try out for free.

Where do I go when I arrive at the field?

All players need to arrive 20-30 minutes before your scheduled time.  If you have not registered yet for tryouts or need to pick-up your tryout number, visit the Main Pavilion at the Commons. When you check in for the first time, you will receive a sheet with 3 stickers on it – 1 for each day.  Therefore, you do not need to check in the following day(s).  Those who have played for BSC in the past and those who have attended the pre-tryout camp will keep the same assigned, numbered pinnie through tryouts.  Please pick it up prior to the beginning of tryouts, and drop it off at the end in the designated areas.  DO NOT take the numbered pinnies home!

Once you have your pinnie, jog out to the assigned field for your age group.  Parents, please do not go on to the field with your child.  Players, coaches, and evaluators are the only people permitted on the fields during tryouts.

Blast players will meet with their team to pick up their Blast Player Packet, review team calendars and expectations, and select uniform numbers within 2 weeks after tryouts.

How do I order my Blast Uniform Kit?

For all 11U teams, the coach will schedule a time for your team to visit the BSC office to try on the sample uniforms.  You will also have your picture taken for your player pass at the office.  For players with a 2001 – 2009 birthdate, you can come to the office during business hours to try on uniforms and take your player pass picture.

Can I apply for a scholarship?

Yes!  BSC wants every child to have the opportunity to participate in our program.  We provide scholarships to athletes in need.  Please email Carol Stephens for the scholarship application.
