FAQ'S

Welcome to Broomfield Soccer Club! Below you will find information that is very helpful if you are new to the world of soccer. If you have any questions after reading this, please feel free to email michael.green@broomfieldsoccerclub.org. We are always happy to help!

  • Age Groups

Recreational soccer begins at the U4 age group, and runs through U15. The U stands for under, but this can be a bit confusing. Starting in the fall of 2016, BSC began to follow US Soccer and FIFA mandates and use the calendar year to determine age groups, instead of the previously used school year calendar. The calendar year age groups run from January 1st through December 31st. When registering your children, please be absolutely sure that you enter the date of birth correctly and that they are registered in the correct age group. All players are asked to play in their own age group as each program provides its own unique set of skills for player development.

From U4 through U8, all games are played against other teams from within Broomfield Soccer Club. At U8 or U9, players transition into one of two programs, our traditional recreational soccer program, or our accelerated development program, Select. Teams begin to play other clubs, and you have several options having to do with commitment level, skill level, etc. Once players get to U11, competitive soccer begins! Most players go the competitive soccer route, but some do choose to continue with recreational soccer, which BSC offers as well.

The rec spring season runs from early/mid March through late May. Registration for the rec spring season is early November through January 15th. During the winter, there are many indoor soccer and futsal options available.

  • Rec Refund Policy

For recreational soccer, if you request a refund prior to the closing of the registration period (January 15th for spring soccer, July 15th for fall soccer), a 100% refund is available, less a $10 processing fee.  Following the close of the registration period, a 50% refund is available until the end of January for spring soccer, and the end of July for fall soccer, less a $10 processing fee.  After that period, no refunds are available.  Special circumstances may be considered (injury, family moving out of town, etc.), but a child changing their mind is not considered one of these special circumstances.

We ask that you inform us ASAP if you believe that your child will not be participating in soccer, despite being registered, as this greatly affects our team formation process.

For Select and Competitive Soccer, no refunds are available.
