Broomfield Soccer Club

Recreational

Recreational soccer at Broomfield Soccer Club is one of the longest‑running and most community‑driven programs in Colorado, offering a fun, inclusive, and development‑focused environment for players U4 through U15. The program has been a cornerstone of the club since its founding in 1974 and continues to introduce hundreds of young athletes to the game each year.

BSC’s recreational pathway emphasizes joy, teamwork, confidence, and foundational skill development, giving players a positive soccer experience regardless of prior experience. From U4–U8, all games are played internally within Broomfield SC, creating a supportive, familiar environment for young players and families.

As players grow, the program offers multiple pathways—Recreational, Select, Junior Academy, Academy and Competitive—ensuring every child can find the right level of challenge and commitment.  If you have any questions after reading this, please feel free to email michael.green@broomfieldsoccerclub.org. What Makes Broomfield SC Recreational Soccer Special?

A True Community Soccer Experience

Broomfield SC has served local families for over 50 years, offering a welcoming environment where players of all backgrounds can learn the game, make friends, and build confidence. The club’s recreational program is designed to be low‑pressure, high‑fun, and developmentally appropriate for every age.

Developmentally Aligned Age Groups

Recreational soccer at BSC begins at U4 and runs through U15, following U.S. Soccer’s calendar‑year age‑grouping model. This ensures players are placed with peers at similar developmental stages and receive age‑appropriate coaching.

A Focus on Learning Through Play

At the younger ages (U4–U8), players learn the game through small‑sided formats that maximize touches, creativity, and fun. All games in these age groups are played in‑house, allowing families to enjoy local, convenient weekends at the fields.

Pathways for Every Player

As players grow, BSC offers multiple next steps—Recreational, Select, Junior Academy, and Competitive—ensuring each child can continue their soccer journey at the right pace and level.

Why Recreational Soccer Matters

Recreational soccer is often a child’s first introduction to organized sports—and it’s designed to be fun, inclusive, and development‑focused. Nationally, recreational soccer is known for:

  • Building confidence and social skills
  • Encouraging healthy habits and physical activity
  • Teaching teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship
  • Providing a low‑pressure environment where kids can fall in love with the game
  • Creating lifelong friendships and community connections

Broomfield SC’s program embodies all of these values while offering families a well‑organized, supportive, and joyful soccer experience.
